Welcome to the personal website of Jill Saudek, author of three books of poems and stories.

Jill started writing her books of poems during lockdown. The enforced inactivity led her to explore her husband’s collection of art books and wonder if the paintings they loved could be paired with poems of imaginative interpretation.

Her lifelong love of the English language and literature found new expression in these poems. After Poems from Paintings was published in 2020, she went on to unearth poems she loved to see how she might give them a modern interpretation.

Her second book, Poems from Poems, was published in 2023.

Jill’s latest book is of stories to be read to young children. It’s called The Mind’s Eye. Read more about this and Jill’s other books.
